BEATNIQ is a new super-luxury condominium project situated on the main road of Sukhumvit and Soi Sukhumvit 32.
The project hosts 197 units over 34 storeys and is marketed towards attracting the “ Young Successful ” crowd.
SC Asset project begun construction in 2016 and hosts a variation of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom suites.

The expected completion date is September 2018 and has an affordable starting price of 12 million baht.

I recently had the opportunity to inspect the onsite 1 and 2 bedroom display units and the following describes my thoughts and impressions on the project.

Location

The first thing that struck me about the BEATNIQ was the practicality of the location. Self-described as “Bangkok’s Best Location”, it sits on the main road and is right in the heart of Sukhumvit. It is a convenient 250m walk from the Thong Lo BTS, 500m walk from the Em District shopping malls and is surrounded by some of Bangkok’s hippest bars and restaurants for both day and night recreations.

This is an ideal location for those looking to spend a lot of time socialising and those who want access to a range extracurricular activities such as fitness clubs.

Building Designs

BEATNIQ derives its name from the 20th century “Beatnik” culture and “uniqueness”. Prior to becoming the BEATNIQ, the Sukhumvit 32 site was home of the Western-style 60’s hotel, The Rex, one of the first western style hotels in Bangkok and a popular late night food destination famous for its khao tom gui.

In homage to The Rex, the BEATNIQ retains its Mid-Modern era characteristics with a self-described “Extravagant” steel and glassware interlocked geometric exterior. This creates overall dark grey and white stonewall building tone that blends Mid-Century Modern architecture with the modern era.
The interior also has a design that blends architecture of the 20th century with contemporary arts.

 

Suite Types

Suites come fully fitted , unfurnished and in 1, 2 and 3 bedroom designs. Each suite boasts high quality fixtures, high ceilings and a smooth mood and tone that gives a feeling as though no expense was spared in the design.

 

Kitchens are fitted with composite Quartz Top bench tops, Küppersbusch microwaves, ovens and electric hobbs, built-in ELECTROLUX refrigerators and swivel sink taps. Each kitchen is fitted with high quality cabinet doors and hinges  that  provides enough storage space for even the most enthusiastic chef.

 

Bedroom and living area floors are finished with engineering wood that give a homely feeling. Bathrooms come with high quality composite marble walls and floors and wall fitted TOTO or American Standard toilets and sinks.

One bedroom

The one bedroom suites offer a comfortable living style with all the high-quality fixtures and an efficient use of space. A good-sized living area and kitchen provide a comfortable living arrangement however it does not offer the luxurious spaciousness of its two and three bedroom older brothers.

 

The one bedroom comes with a usable balcony, high ceilings and multipurpose table in the bedroom that acts to divide the bedroom from the bathroom. It also doubles as a desk and makeup table that is exposed to natural sunlight – a testament to the level of detail that has gone into the design of the interior.

 

The one bedroom is ideal for the bachelor or working couples whom are spending a lot of time at work or out socializing and need the optimality of location that the BEATNIQ provides.

Two bedrooms

The two bedroom suites offer luxury spaciousness usually only reserved by those less conveniently located condominiums. Each comes with a separate washing machine and dryer, a boiling water system and separate his & her washing sinks.

 

The two bedroom comes in variations that offer a semi-outdoor balcony room as well as some with high 3.5m ceilings or with Thai traditional style kitchens.

Facilities

The lobby provides a stylish entry that matches both the … theme and exterior of the BEATNIQ. It includes a Reading Lounge with Meeting Room and the peaceful Landscape Garden with Dipping Pool.

Other facilities include a 7th floor swimming pool with floating pool pavilion, a fully equipped gym with boxing area and yoga studio as well as a kid’s lounge.

The 32nd floor includes a Landscaped Sky Garden and the 34th floor has a Multipurpose Room with Outdoor Recreational Area and Semi-Outdoor Jacuzzi Pool.

Overall

Overall the BEATNIQ provides luxury city-centre living in the heart of one of Bangkok’s most exciting business districts. For a starting price of 279.000 Baht / sq.m, it is reasonably priced and accessible to the young professionals that SC Asset hopes to attract.

 

The glassware interlocked exterior is a pleasant site that matches the 20th century blend interior. It is something that I could see myself looking forward to coming home to each day.

 

The best attribute in my opinion however, still remains the prestige of the location. It is surrounded by a mixture of high-end restaurants and wide range of street foods, as well as parks, community malls and easy access to all transport types. The premium that is paid for such a location is recouped by the convenience and well-being it adds to the lifestyle.
